RegisterMyBike — Close account and delete personal data

Request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Any lawful retention and separate logbook requests are explained in the privacy information.

Deletion steps and milestones

Beta deletion testing is available for the authorised test mailbox and email-only accounts without registry or provider records. Account deletion does not delete a logbook. Unsupported accounts require a separate review.

  1. When you are ready to test, use the authorised beta email with a verified email/password account. Do not add identity, payment or registered-bike records. An unsubmitted saved draft can be used to check cleanup.
  2. In Settings, read both permanent-deletion acknowledgements, select them and type DELETE to request the confirmation email. When that email arrives, sign into the same account, open its link and type DELETE again to confirm.
  3. We will email you after 12 hours to confirm permanent deletion. Confirm within seven days; otherwise nothing is deleted. After confirmation, deletion must finish within 14 days.
  4. After confirmed deletion, check the completion email and that the old account and saved draft are no longer accessible. A pending or failed request is not proof of deletion. Logbook withdrawal requires a separate manual request.

Evidence uploads have a 90-day deletion target in application code, but automatic purge is disabled unless separately enabled and verified. Other registry, payment, document, support, provider, backup and log retention periods are unresolved; we cannot promise complete erasure. The deletion pilot is limited to eligible owner test accounts without linked-provider or registry dependencies. Confirmation is scheduled after 12 hours; its initial link window ends 7 days 12 hours after the request. The target is the earlier of 14 days after confirmation or 30 days after receipt; delayed confirmation does not extend that maximum. Account deletion and withdrawing a logbook are different. For access, correction, export, objection, consent withdrawal or deletion, contact hello@registermybike.com. Any retained records need a documented reason and period.

Logbook withdrawal

Logbook withdrawal requests are reviewed manually. Ordinarily, only the current registered keeper or their verified authorised representative may request withdrawal. We may require proportionate evidence of identity, authority and the relationship to the bicycle. Registration does not establish legal ownership. We may pause a disputed request while checking authority. This process does not restrict anyone’s statutory personal-data rights or prevent action required by law.

Approved logbook deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Before proceeding, we explain the affected logbook and consequences and require a separate explicit confirmation from the verified requester.
